Road bike service for Laguna Beach riders

Laguna Beach has some of the steepest climbs in Orange County and the coast road at its door. We're a Santa Ana shop, about 17 miles by road from Laguna Beach City Hall.

Riding in Laguna means hills. Park Ave up to Top of the World averages over 9% (bikeclimbs.com), and the descents back to town ask a lot of your brakes. Add PCH north to Crystal Cove and Newport, and Laguna Canyon Rd out of town, and you get a lot of variety in a small place. Salt air is part of the deal too.

We're not in Laguna Beach; our one shop is in Santa Ana. Laguna riders usually come to us for brake work, full services, builds and Cervélo bikes.

Getting to the shop from Laguna Beach

About 16.9 miles by road from Laguna Beach City Hall (505 Forest Ave) (13.3 miles in a straight line). Approximate: computed from OpenStreetMap coordinates and routing data. Traffic and your exact start point change it.

From City Hall at 505 Forest Ave, take Laguna Canyon Rd (SR-133) north for about 4 miles. The fastest route in our map data then uses the 73 toll road north to the Fairview Rd exit, but you can stay on SR-133 to the 405 north and exit at Fairview Rd to skip the toll. Go north on Fairview, which becomes S Fairview St, and turn left on W MacArthur Blvd. The shop is about half a mile along, in Suite B.

Rides near Laguna Beach

Park Ave to Top of the World

About 2 miles and 950 ft from Glenneyre St to the top at a 9.2% average, with very steep pitches (bikeclimbs.com). Make sure your brakes are in top shape for the way down.

Laguna Canyon Road (SR-133)

One of three routes in and out of Laguna Beach. In August 2026 Caltrans finished a project that added bike lanes and an auxiliary lane on the 1-mile stretch between El Toro Rd and the 73 (Daily Pilot). The rest of the road is still narrow and busy.

What Laguna Beach riders bring us

Steep descents and sea air are a tough combination. Laguna riders most often need hydraulic brake bleeds, new pads and rotors, a drivetrain clean and a tune-up. Want lower gearing for the hills? We can talk through upgrades.

Questions riders ask

How far is Veloaded Cyclery from Laguna Beach?

About 16.9 miles by road from Laguna Beach City Hall using the fastest route in OpenStreetMap data (it uses the 73 toll road), or 13.3 miles in a straight line. Both are approximate.

Why do my brakes feel soft after Laguna descents?

Long, steep descents heat up hydraulic brakes. If the lever feels softer or the pads squeal, have the pads and fluid checked. A bleed often brings the lever back.
