Tustin bikes lead a double life. Point north or east and you're climbing within minutes, toward Peters Canyon, Irvine Regional Park and the bottom of Santiago Canyon Rd. Point south and the Mountains to Sea Trail carries you on a long, flat run to the Back Bay. One side of that wears brakes; the other wears chains and tires. Most of what Tustin riders bring us is one or the other.

Since the 55 drops you onto MacArthur Blvd a few miles from our door, Tustin is one of the easier freeway trips to the shop. We're independent and owner-run, and we talk through what the bike needs, and what it costs, before any work begins.

Getting your bike to the shop from Tustin

About 7.9 miles by road from Tustin City Hall (300 Centennial Way) (6.2 miles in a straight line). Approximate: computed from OpenStreetMap coordinates and routing data. Traffic and your exact start point change it.

From Tustin City Hall (300 Centennial Way): take Newport Ave to the 5 for a short stretch, then the 55 (Costa Mesa Fwy) south for about 3 miles. Exit at MacArthur Blvd and turn right. MacArthur becomes W MacArthur Blvd as you head west; after about 3 miles you reach the shop, between Fairview St and Harbor Blvd, in Suite B.

Coming from the 405 instead: use the Fairview Rd or Harbor Blvd exits and go north to MacArthur.

Repairs Tustin riders ask for most

  • Hydraulic brake bleeds — A lever that sinks toward the bar after a few canyon descents usually means old or aerated fluid. We bleed it with fresh fluid for a firm, consistent feel. Book this · More
  • Pads, rotors and calipers — Glazed pads and warped rotors are the other half of climbing wear. Pads replaced, rotors trued, calipers aligned. Book this
  • Gearing for the foothills — Spinning out on the flats or grinding up Peters Canyon? Cassette, chainring and groupset changes are quoted on inspection. Book this · More
  • Drivetrain clean after trail miles — Long Mountains to Sea Trail rides coat the chain with grime. A deep clean of chain, cassette, rings and derailleurs gets shifting crisp again. Book this
  • Wheel truing — Lateral and radial truing, spoke tension and broken-spoke replacement. Book this · More

If one bike does both Peters Canyon and Santiago Canyon Rd for you, tell us when you book. Dirt and long descents on the same bike call for different tire and pad choices than a pure road setup, and we'd rather set it up for how you actually ride. Our guide to disc brakes on OC climbs explains the warning signs.
