Riding in Laguna means hills. Park Ave up to Top of the World is about 2 miles and 950 feet from Glenneyre St, at a 9.2% average with much steeper pitches (bikeclimbs.com). Every climb in town ends in a descent back toward the water, and that is where Laguna bikes get worn: brake pads, rotors and fluid do far more work here than on a flat coastal route.
Add PCH north to Crystal Cove and Newport, Laguna Canyon Rd out of town and constant salt air, and you can see why Laguna riders mostly bring us brake bleeds, new pads and rotors, drivetrain cleans and tune-ups. Plenty also ask about lower gearing. We're an independent, owner-run shop, and we confirm the work and price with you before anything starts.
Getting your bike to the shop from Laguna Beach
About 16.9 miles by road from Laguna Beach City Hall (505 Forest Ave) (13.3 miles in a straight line). Approximate: computed from OpenStreetMap coordinates and routing data. Traffic and your exact start point change it.
From Laguna Beach City Hall (505 Forest Ave): take Laguna Canyon Rd (SR-133) north for about 4 miles. The fastest route in our map data then uses the 73 toll road north (about 7 miles) and the Corona del Mar Fwy to the Fairview Rd exit. Go north on Fairview, which becomes S Fairview St, and turn left on W MacArthur Blvd. The shop is about half a mile along, in Suite B.
No toll: stay on SR-133 to the 405 north and exit at Fairview Rd. In August 2026 Caltrans finished a project that added bike lanes and an auxiliary lane on the 1-mile stretch of Laguna Canyon Rd between El Toro Rd and the 73 (Daily Pilot); the rest of the canyon road is still narrow and busy, so most people drive it.

Repairs Laguna Beach riders ask for most
- Hydraulic brake bleeds — Long, steep descents from Top of the World heat brake fluid. A bleed with fresh fluid restores a firm, consistent lever. Book this · More
- Pads and rotors — Laguna descents wear pads fast. New pads, rotor truing or replacement, and caliper alignment. Book this · More
- Lower gearing for the hills — Park Ave and the canyon climbs are easier with the right gears. Cassette, chainring and groupset changes, quoted on inspection. Book this · More
- Drivetrain care for salt air — Sea air dries chains and corrodes hardware. Deep clean, re-lube and a wear check. Book this
- Tune-ups and full services — Safety check, shifting and brake adjustment, lube and bolts torqued to spec, or a full overhaul. Book this · More
Before a Top of the World day, check your pads: if there's barely any material left, don't start the descent on them. Our guide to disc brakes on OC climbs covers fade, squeal and when to bleed, and our PCH ride guide covers the coast road north.
