Colnago is one of the oldest and most storied names in road racing, and its range runs from WorldTour race machines to handmade frames and classic steel. Buying one is personal. Veloaded Cyclery, a premium owner-run shop in Santa Ana and a proud authorized Colnago dealer, keeps it that way: we talk through how you ride, get the size right, quote it, build it in-house and look after it.

The Colnago range, in plain English

Colnago's current bikes, as listed on colnago.com, fall into a few families:

• V-series race bikes (V5Rs, V4Rs, V4): monocoque carbon race bikes. Colnago describes the V5Rs as the lightest Colnago it has built and as an all-round race bike designed for its WorldTour riders. The V4 makes the V-series ride more accessible.
• Y1Rs: Colnago's aero race bike, for fast, flat roads.
• C68 and C72: handmade in Italy; the C68 uses modular carbon construction. Colnago positions the C68 as a bike built for riding pleasure as much as racing. The C68 also comes in Allroad and Gravel versions.
• Steelnovo and Master: steel road bikes, modern and classic.
• G4-X and G5-X: gravel bikes for dirt roads and mixed surfaces.
• TT1 and TT2: time-trial and triathlon.

V5Rs or C68? A common question

Both are top-end carbon road bikes with similar geometry, but they're built differently and aimed differently. The V5Rs is a monocoque frame designed around professional racing: very light and very stiff. The C68 is a modular, handmade frame tuned for a lively, enjoyable ride. If you race or ride very hard, the V-series makes sense. If you want a Colnago to savor on long weekend rides through Santiago Canyon or along PCH, the C68 or C72 may suit you better. We'll talk it through with you. We go through frame size (stack and reach) with you before anything is ordered, and we offer full professional bike fits to dial in your position on the finished bike. How buying a Colnago works at Veloaded

1. Talk it through. Send a Colnago quote request or call (714) 760-4908. Tell us how and where you ride, your height or current frame size, and your budget.
2. Sizing. We go through size and setup with you before anything is ordered.
3. Quote and order. You get a quote first. Nothing is ordered until you say yes.
4. Build. Edgar Rodriguez, our Founder & Master Builder, builds the bike in-house, torqued to spec, with cockpit and shifting set up. Groupset, wheel and bearing choices, including Shimano, ENVE, Princeton, Scope and CeramicSpeed, can be planned into the build.
5. Register and ride. Ask us about registering the bike with Colnago for warranty, then bring it back after the first rides for a check.

Servicing a Colnago

We service Colnagos of any age, wherever you bought them: Di2 and AXS setup and firmware on integrated cockpits, hydraulic brake bleeds, bottom brackets and headsets, wheels and tune-ups. Steel Colnagos get the care steel needs, and older rim-brake bikes are welcome too. For a frame-up project, see custom builds. Can't make the drive?
