Los Angeles is huge, and so is the range of riding: river paths, city commutes, canyon climbs and fast group rides. Most riders here already have a shop around the corner for a quick flat fix, and that's how it should be. The riders who come to Veloaded are usually after something more specific: a Pinarello, Colnago or Cervélo sized properly, a custom build with the exact parts they want, or a full professional fit from the person who'll also build and service the bike.

From Downtown that's a real drive, so we help you plan one visit that covers everything. If you can't get here, ship it instead.

Riding in Los Angeles, and what it does to a bike

The Los Angeles River path is the best-known car-free route in the city, and Griffith Park and the hills around it are where many riders go to climb. Most LA miles, though, are ridden on city streets, with potholes, stop-and-go traffic and long days in the sun.

On the bench, that shows up as wheels knocked out of true, worn brake pads, tired cables and chains that stretch faster than you'd expect. Tell us how and where you ride when you book, and we'll look first at the parts that work hardest.

Getting to the shop from Los Angeles

About 36.8 miles by road from Los Angeles City Hall (200 N Spring St), roughly 50–65 minutes off-peak (approx.; 30.7 mi as the crow flies). Downtown riders usually head south on the I-5, switch to the I-605 and then pick up the I-405 south. Leave the 405 at Talbert Ave or Harbor Blvd; we're on W MacArthur Blvd, a few blocks north of the freeway. Weekday rush hours can double the time.

Why Los Angeles riders choose Veloaded

  • Three race brands under one roof. Compare a Pinarello, a Colnago and a Cervélo in one conversation; we're proud authorized dealers of 15 authorized brands in all.
  • Builds that survive city streets. Wheels, tires and gearing chosen for potholes and stop-and-go riding as much as for weekend climbs. See custom builds for LA riders.
  • A fit from the person who builds the bike. Ed, our Founder & Master Builder, fits riders on the same bench where the bikes are built; plan a fit from LA.
  • Skip the 405 when you can. Ship a bike, frame or wheels instead: phone (714) 760-4908 or email [email protected] for a service ticket before it leaves, then ask us about return shipping details. Any brand, bought anywhere.

The jobs that make the most sense to bring from Los Angeles are the bigger ones: a new-bike quote, a custom build, a full professional fit, Di2 or AXS work or a wheel build. Tell us everything when you book and we'll plan one visit around it.
