Custom bike builds for Los Angeles riders
Veloaded builds bikes frame-up at our one shop in Santa Ana. LA County riders come to us, or ship frames and wheels to us, for builds planned around their riding, their position and the parts they want.

A custom build is the bike exactly as you want it: the frame you chose, the groupset, wheels, cockpit and contact points that suit your riding, put together by someone who checks every interface. Los Angeles riders bring us builds for all kinds of reasons: a dream race bike, a climbing bike for the San Gabriels, a gravel bike for mixed surfaces, or a frame they already own and want built properly.
What we build with
We're proud authorized dealers of Pinarello, Colnago and Cervélo for frames and bikes; ENVE, Princeton and Scope for wheels; CeramicSpeed for bearings and drivetrain parts; and Shimano for groupsets, plus Look, Scott, KASK, MET, ASSOS, Q36.5 and Velocio. We also build with other parts once we've checked compatibility. Recent builds on our Instagram include a Pinarello Dogma F, a custom Pinarello F, a Cervélo S5 and a custom ENVE road build.
Planning a build from LA
- Tell us the idea. Request a build quote or call (714) 760-4908: the frame, how you ride, your size and the parts you have in mind.
- Compatibility check. Before anything is ordered we check bottom bracket and crank standards, headset and steerer, internal routing, brake and rotor sizes, axle standards, tire clearance and groupset, wheel and power meter compatibility.
- Quote. You get a quote for parts and labor first. Nothing is ordered until you say yes.
- Build. Frame prep, bottom bracket and headset, groupset, brakes, wheels and cockpit, all torqued to spec, then shifting and brakes dialed in.
- Collect. One visit to pick up the bike and go through it with you.
Wheels, bearings and contact points
Wheels change how a bike rides more than almost any other part. We help you choose between ENVE, Princeton and Scope based on where you ride: rim depth for windy coast roads versus long climbs, internal rim width for the tires you want, and tubeless setup. We also check tire and rim compatibility, including hookless rims, before anything is ordered. CeramicSpeed bearings and drivetrain parts can go in at build time, along with a saddle, bar and bar tape that suit you. Every part is listed in the quote, so you can see where the money goes.
Build around your position
The best time to get fit right is before the cockpit is cut and cabled. Ed does full professional bike fits, so stem length, bar width, crank length and saddle can be chosen around you rather than swapped later. See bike fitting for Los Angeles riders.
Shipping frames and wheels
If you've already bought a frame, or the drive is the problem, ship the parts: We accept bikes, frames and wheels shipped to the shop at 3420 W MacArthur Blvd Suite B, Santa Ana, CA 92704. Call (714) 760-4908 or email [email protected] first to arrange it and get a service ticket, and ask us about return shipping details. We'll confirm the parts list and compatibility before the build starts.
Building on a dealer bike
Buying a new Pinarello, Colnago or Cervélo? Wheel, bearing and contact-point upgrades can go on at build time, so the bike arrives the way you want it.
Questions riders ask
Can I bring my own parts?
Ask us. We're happy to use parts you already have once we've checked compatibility.
Do you build gravel and triathlon bikes?
Yes: road, triathlon, gravel and mountain builds.
What will my build cost?
That depends entirely on the frame and parts you choose. Every part and the labor are itemized in a quote, and nothing is ordered until you approve it.
Can my LA build be set up around a fit?
Yes. Book a full professional fit with Ed before the cockpit is cut and cabled, and stem, bar, crank length and saddle are chosen around you.
