A Colnago is rarely an impulse buy. Some riders want the latest WorldTour race machine; others want a handmade Italian frame or a modern steel bike they'll keep for decades. Los Angeles has riders in every one of those camps, and the right choice depends on what you value as much as how you ride. Veloaded Cyclery, a proud authorized Colnago dealer at 3420 W MacArthur Blvd Suite B in Santa Ana, takes the time to work that out with you, then builds the bike in-house.
Three ways to own a Colnago
Colnago's current range, as listed on colnago.com, groups into a few families. For LA riders we usually frame it as three choices:
- The race bike: V5Rs, V4Rs, V4 or the Y1Rs. Colnago describes the V5Rs as the lightest Colnago it has built, an all-round race bike for its WorldTour riders; the Y1Rs is its aero race bike. Right for racing and the fastest group rides.
- The handmade bike: C68 and C72. Made in Italy, with the C68 using modular carbon construction. Colnago positions the C68 as a bike for riding pleasure as much as racing, and it comes in Allroad and Gravel versions too.
- The steel bike: Steelnovo and Master. Modern and classic steel road bikes, for riders who love the ride and the heritage.
Colnago also makes G4-X and G5-X gravel bikes and TT1/TT2 time-trial bikes. Models, finishes and lead times change, so ask what can be ordered now. We quote personally; we don't publish stock or prices.
Choosing for LA riding
If your rides are long climbs into the San Gabriels or laps of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, a lighter race frame or a C68 with the right gearing makes sense. If most of your miles are on rough city streets, tire clearance and a slightly taller position matter more; the C68 Allroad is worth a look. Steel bikes ride beautifully and suit riders who want one bike to enjoy rather than to race. We go through stack and reach with you before anything is ordered, and Ed does full professional bike fits on the finished bike. See bike fitting for Los Angeles riders.
How buying a Colnago works
- Tell us what you're after. Request a Colnago quote or call (714) 760-4908: how you ride, your current bike and size, and your budget.
- Size and spec. We agree size, groupset, wheels and contact points with you.
- Quote, then order. Nothing is ordered until you say yes.
- Built in-house by Edgar Rodriguez, our Founder & Master Builder. Wheel and bearing upgrades can go on at the same time; see custom builds for LA riders.

Questions riders ask
Which Colnago should I choose?
It depends on what you value: a race bike (V-series, Y1Rs), a handmade bike (C68, C72) or steel (Steelnovo, Master). We talk it through with you before anything is ordered.
Do you sell Colnago steel bikes?
Ask us about the Steelnovo and Master. Availability changes, so we confirm what can be ordered and quote you first.
Is the C68 good for rough LA roads?
The C68 Allroad version is designed for mixed surfaces and wider tires. We help you decide between it and the road version based on how you ride.
Can I ship my bike, frame or wheels to the shop?
Yes. We accept bikes, frames and wheels shipped to the shop. Call (714) 760-4908 or email [email protected] first to arrange it and get a service ticket, then ship to 3420 W MacArthur Blvd Suite B, Santa Ana, CA 92704. Ask us about return shipping details.
Do you service Colnagos bought elsewhere?
