Inland Empire riding is about heat, climbing and distance. Riders go up toward Mount Baldy and the San Bernardino Mountains, out on the long valley roads, through Temecula wine country, and onto dirt in Chino Hills State Park. Cervélo's range lines up well with that, and Veloaded Cyclery, a proud authorized Cervélo dealer at 3420 W MacArthur Blvd Suite B in Santa Ana, is a realistic drive down the 91 or the 57 for a lot of IE riders.
Which Cervélo for Inland Empire riding?
Cervélo's current road, gravel and triathlon families, as listed on cervelo.com, include:
- R5: the lightweight climber, for the long mountain climbs north of the valley.
- Caledonia: endurance road with room for wider tires, for long, hot days and rough valley roads.
- Áspero: gravel race, for dirt roads and mixed-surface loops.
- P-series (P5): triathlon and time trial, for riders training for events in the region.
- S5 and Soloist: aero race and aero all-rounder, for fast group rides on the flat.
Cervélo updates its range and builds regularly; call us for what can be ordered for you right now. Our guide to choosing a Cervélo goes deeper.
Heat, climbs and setup
Long climbs make gearing matter, and long descents make brakes matter. Inland heat dries tubeless sealant faster and is hard on tires. When we spec a Cervélo for an IE rider, we talk through gearing, tire width and wheels for how you ride, and we go through stack and reach before anything is ordered. Ed also does full professional bike fits; see bike fitting for Inland Empire riders.
How buying a Cervélo works from the IE
- Quote request or call. Request a Cervélo quote or call (714) 760-4908 with your height, current bike, riding and budget.
- Sizing and spec, by phone first if that saves a trip.
- Quote, then order. Nothing is ordered until you say yes.
- Built in-house by Edgar Rodriguez, our Founder & Master Builder, torqued to spec, with shifting and cockpit set up. Wheel and bearing upgrades from ENVE, Princeton, Scope and CeramicSpeed can go on at the same time.
- Pick-up, then service on the same bench.
